Week 26 – Web Design Process 3: Development part 2 – LA – Coding Basics
Take the basic website you have designed in your previous two Learning Activities in this module (Learning Activity – Put Thought Into Your Design and Learning Activity – Planning the Structure) and convert that into HTML and CSS code.
This will help you understand the importance between the design and the programming phase and how they work together.
Don’t stress if you can’t get everything right, just do as much as you can.
I ended up spending more time than I anticipated on coding the website. I only managed to get a start on the homepage as most of my time went to research and lots of trial and error with the design. I struggled a lot with CSS in the beginning and had no idea how to do basically anything.
I ended up with a VERY basic home page, but I’m at least proud of the drop down menu that I finally managed to code! I tried many different navigation bars, before ending up with a drop down.
