Module 1 – W03 – Sketching Techniques – Learning Activity 

“You are briefed to do an illustration for fruit juice packaging (orange and banana flavour). The name of the product is: Loose Juice.

• Draw at least 15 scamps (they can be A6 size each) of what the label will look like. Remember to include the fruit, the name of the flavour and the name of the product.
• Choose one of your sketches and draw the label, using Adobe Illustrator. The artwork can be A6 (landscape or portrait).”

In the picture above is the sketch I decided to use. I made the label below using illustrator.

The sketch actually turned out much better than the finished product, but I’ve never really used Illustrator before, so I guess I’m relatively pleased with the end result. It was a bit rushed because I didn’t notice that the module was divided into two weeks until the evening of Friday the 24th (three days before deadline). And on top of that I still hadn’t finished the previous learning activities as I was going to finish them in the weekend. So I basically had to try and catch up on over a week’s worth of lessons and activities in approx. two days time. It all turned out alright in the end though, and I got all the activities done, even though I have to try and catch up on the lessons during the next week as I didn’t get time to look at them during the weekend.
